WISER IN 2009

This year has been an interesting year for sure...
#1 most interesting on the list was Obama..there's just too much to say towards him so I'm going to another topic

Several lessons came up this year like:

Octomom taught everyone that while it takes a village to raise a child, a whole state is needed for eight children...

And....

Haleigh Cummings case has taught me that a child dissappearing in the care of a father does not mean that a judge will automatically award custody of the child who is still safe to the mom...Guess that's what happens when you have very irresponsible parents...

And on the subject of Haleigh Cummings, when did it become okay to sit back and watch a 25yr old marry a 17yr old???? Okay, that's not a lesson. That's a question, but somebody answer this.

You really can never predict what a criminal does... Not too long ago some man decided to go kill old people in a nursing home. Well, he killed a nurse too, but also people from the age of 77 to the they're early 90's. I don't even want to know why someone would kill they elderly...

For all the hackers out there, if you get caught you will receive prison time...just look at Marcus Barrington, the first of the three FAMU students to go to trial...then again maybe the lesson was if you decide to hack into a college computer system to change grades and get away with it, don't continue to do it cause you might eventually get caught..

3. Apparently the anti-smoking commercials have not affected smokers, but increasing the cost of tobacco is pissing them off..

4. To make money off of books all you have to do is right one and claim it's not written for profit. That's what Steve Harvey did and he's sold a countless amount of books. I'm not even gonna lie. I bought it too. For those of you who read my article in the FAMUAN you already know this.

Years ago I knew that the economy profited heavily from African Americans and every once in a while Mariah Carey took advantage of this. Well, she's back at it again in the The Dream's song "My LOve"...gotta admit though, she still sounds good.
Check out the song...

While that song is so wonderful I've also learned that some women realy do feel more comfortable just being a side chick, no benefits, etc. It's the new dating as in the woman has a man but she's really still single...But that's a story for another time. Whoever reads this just pray for single women everywhere...

Until next time, just think and read

BREATHE EASY!!!!!

Sometimes I find it hard to breathe easy..

things aren't like they used to be....

fast paced, rushed....

hyperventalating cause I'm lost in traffic and trying to find my way to the end of the street...

and no turning back....

because in life you can't start over, just gotta keep going...

but aaaaahhhhhh..

I really don't know what I'm doing anymore..

cause for the first time teachers are really failing me....or did I earn that F???

Either way it's overwhelming, making me feel like I can't do it anymore...

cause my life just feels fucked up..

just like the lady in the play Blue said..

"Sometimes things are FUCKED UP"....

but this is my life...

and I gotta keep going...

gotta get back on track...

gotta get back to those A's....right now can't think straight...

but gotta get my mind right again...

too close to the end...

gotta get my breathing back on track..

can't deal with this bullshit feeling anymore...

or maybe this is how it will always be, happiness one step ahead of me...

so gotta find an excape..j

ust for an hour, minute, or even a second to get myself feeling a little better...

confidence, even if I don't feel it gotta figure out how to still wear it...

just one second where I'm not hyperventalating..

Just one second where I can take some time out, clear my mind, and breathe easily again...

just breathe easy cause our problems don't go away, we just learn how to deal with them..

breathe easy cause while I'm suffering others are probably feeling this same exact way...

breathe easy cause through all the stress it's the easiest thing to do...

breathe easy...

breathe in and breathe out...

That's what I plan to do....

Just breathe easy

JUST A FANTASY...

In 1996 when the song Fantasy by Mariah Carey came out everyone was dancing to it. It had a great beat and a lot of the words spoke to single women everywhere. Plus, Mariah Carey has not sung one bad song so that also helped... The song was real life for single women everywhere. It was real for those women who had fall into love and then later fallen out of it and it was real for those women who had never experienced love..

Problem is then and now women are constantly looking for real love from men and not a fantasy. Women do everything to get men. Some women cook while others clean. Some women practice the art of shoning to get their men while others think that if they give a man all their money they will have those men for the rest of their lives. Women don't just come out of nowhere with this desire to want a man in their lives.

From the moment most little girls start growing up they are exposed to Barbie dolls and doll houses. They are told to watch movies such as Cinderella, Beauty and The Beast, Snow White, and The Little Mermaid. As they watch these movies and play with dolls they plan out how they are going to grow up, get married, and have lots of children. Women are taught from day one to go out and start a family. By the time a girl is eighteen she is anxious to find the man she will spend the rest of her life with.

On the other hand, according to experience and Steve Harvey men are not thinking like that. Harvey says men want to profess, protect, and provide for a woman but before that can get to that poin they have to know who they are, what they are good at, and what job title they have. Also, while men do want attention from women, when they are little it is not on their minds.

Question is if men are only thinking of their careers when they are young and women are focusing on the men of their dreams, how can the two have a successful relationshhip? My thoughts on this is the only successful relationship is the one that lasts until someone dies. There are no truly successful relationships because no one is perfect. Mistakes will always be made. Men and women will never agree on everything. We are raised to think differently by society. We are taught to learn how to deal with each other..well "more so" women are taught how to handle men.

But you'll know if your relationship is successful if you can tell your grand or even great grandkids how wonderful your marriage to your significant other who after so many years of marriage died....

Latest Noticings

Tough Love- This past Sunday Vh1's newest reality show "Tough Love" started. It is a very good show, but it brought out one big thing. While many women have a lack of self confidence, many of them do not know how to fix the problems they have. Some of these women were perfectly fine. They looked great, but they just didn't know how to have pride for themselves. Last year I interviewed women for Women's History Month and many of them did not care to celebrate it. I thought then that it was just the women who I interviewed, but this show showed that women need to start over and learn how to love themselves.

Women do model, strip, and become video girls to work their way through college. If you don't believe me just watch ET's newest reality show "Candy Girls." Also, on this show Danielle, the owner of the agency, teaches women that if you look beautiful then you can be successful. After all, she said it worked for her.

Speaking of beauty being successful, it always seemed as though the sexy women were what attracted people to Vegas and nothing could stop peope from going. Guess that was wrong because since the economy went sour the city of Vegas has been losing money. Even more over 300 businesses have pulled out of vacation packages to Vegas so the companies could save money. Ooh, even Vegas can't excape from the loss of money during these hard times...

While Vegas is hurting from the loss of money from regular people and businesses not everyone is complaining about money. AIG workers still managed to receive over a million dollars worth of bonuses. While CNN, MSNBC, and FOX News is complaining, the workers aren't. They are rich.

This year it seemed like there were more people celebrating Saint Patricks Day. It is not that many Irish people in the world or is it?? Actually, I think this holiday gave people an excuse to get drunk, but as a journalist my opinion does not matter.

Speaking of opinions Nancy Grace seems to have been going easy on everyone involved in the Haleigh Cummings dissappearance. Is it just me or are you wondering when she's going to come out and start interrogating everyone herself???

And last but not least I've come to realize lately that I really like reading blogs like...

and many, many more...

That's all for now.
More to come later in the week...but until then "Love yourself because if you don't love you then who will"

OOH, I WANT THAT NOW!!!!!!!!

According to FOX News Americans owe over $900 billion in credit card debt.

According to AFFIL (Americans For Fairness In Lending)

African Americans- Eighty-four percent of African American credit cardholders carry a credit card balance, compared to 75% of Hispanics and 51% of whites. This makes people of color more vulnerable to arbitrary interest rate increases and other industry profit-boosting tactics.

College Students- Seventy-nine percent of college student cardholders do not pay off their balance in full each month. Eleven percent of college students make less than the minimum payment each month, making themselves subject to penalty interest rates and fees.

This is not to meant to scare anyone. Having credit is a good thing as long as it is good credit. Having credit to your name can get you that nice car you want, the expensive house you've had your eyes on, and even your dream job. Yes, jobs do check your credit when looking to hire you.

And credit cards are so easy to get... Almost every major store offers some kind of credit card to people, even Wal Mart.

The major goal is to be cautious when getting one because according to some people Americans do not become responsible with their money until they are already in debt. Where does this thought come from? Well, according MSN... "A cap, a gown, a degree, maybe a hangover and an average of $20,000 in debt: Thats what graduating students are leaving college with." This is not including student loans.

Even with these facts in this troubling economy it seems extremely hard to avoid spending money...and when there is no money to spend it seems extremely hard to avoid pulling out a credit card and charging something because people like Lil Wayne and Fat Joe are telling people to "Make It Rain (spend all the money you got)."

So, to combat this it has been raised that children should be tought how to manage money at an early age. The American Bankers Association Edcuation Foundation (ABAEF) has been talking to kindergartners and up about money management since 1997.

Or since the credit card business is so lucrative, another option is to just help people have a little more money in their pockets from the day that they are born...In 2007 a bill was proposed to give every child in California a start of $500 the day they were born and this money would grow in a bank account until the day they turn 18. After turning 18 the initial $500 would have to be payed back and the rest of the money the person could do whatever they want with it. Sounds good??? After all, the future does lay in the hands of our children...

Well, until there is a solution to the bad economy or the credit card debt rate drops...do research and think before getting a credit card and using it.

The industry is dominated by a few major players. Just six companies - Bank of America, JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Capital One, Discover, and American Express - account for about 90% of all credit card debt.

Hmn..Interesting

Recently, Flo Rida said he was dropping a song he did with Chris Brown from his new album because of what Chris did to Rihanna. Well, while what Chris did was disrepectful is it just me or is Flo Rida's new song a little disrespectful to women...

"You can Be My Shone" by Flo Rida..

Be his shone?? I'll pass on that offer but the song is catchy.

Latest Noticings...

Lately, there have been some interesting happens...
Just thought I'd point them out to you

Larry King Live: It's Wednesday and Larry King was not hosting the Larry King Live Show. This has become a normal occurance lately. I don't know about you but I always thought Larry King would stick it out and never take a break. In fact, I imagined watching him on tv one night talking and next thing I know he's dead on camera...Hey, it makes great television.

Octomom: The octomom now has her own daycare center of people (costs of taking care of all kids over a $100,000) and a brand new home. So, is that how it works now?? Do something real stupid and then beg the public for help? Try it and tell me how it goes.

Chris/Rihanna: Since the beating Chris laid on Rihanna a month ago their names have been in the media everyday. How long do you think this Chris Brown/Rihanna talk is going to last?

For The Love of Ray J: In case you haven't heard the baby is not Ray J's. In fact, Danger is not even pregnant. She lied.

Reality TV: There seems to be a lot of people who do not take reality tv seriously at all. They think the shows are dumb and it's all just made up. Well, guess what? Those are real people. When they are on camera they are real and when they are off camera they are the exact same way..Plus, there are people all around you that act the exact same way.

Michael Jackson: He is still performing..supposedly (well, reportedly) this is his last tour and today it was announced that there are going to be more performances added to the tour.

Dr. Phil: Dr. Phil helped the octomom get a new home and the perfect people to watch her children. Isn't this what Oprah used to do??? Would you run to Dr. Phil for help?

Taniqka Ray: Taniqka Ray (cohost of Showbiz tonight) changed her hairstyle. Do you think it looked better before?

Nickelodeon: There seems to always be someone protesting against Nickelodeon. They protested at Sean Kingston's song "Suicidal" and now they have protested against Chris Brown nomination on Nickelodeon. Now, they want Rihanna to be dropped from the nominations too. Of course children watch Nickelodeon, but do parents really watch that station??? Do you think they should have never been nominated??? Or do you think parents of Nickelodeon watchers need to sit down somewhere???

Well, that's all for now...but until next time.

WANT IT, NEED IT

After reading Steve Harvey's book "Act Like A Woman, Think Like A Man" I realized too often women expect to get whatever they want without actually asking or claiming...

Then I heard this song...while it is sexual every word that Ashanti says shows that she knows what she is after and she is not going to sit around and wait for it...so listen and enjoy

By the way...it's Plies song but everyone knows Ashanti rules this...

DO I LOVE THE CHASE OR THE PAIN????

For The Love of Ray J 3/2/2009 episode.

Lil Hood finally expressed herself after several episodes of Ray J ignoring her. On this specific episode she told him she was there for him, but then he said he was not there for her...Hearing that shit hurt her. You could see it all in her face.

Earlier tonight there was a discussion as to why Rihanna was getting back with Chris Brown. Someone said it was because she was too attached to him. She couldn't just let go. But damn, a man hitting woman like he hit her must've hurt, right??

Back to Lil Hood: It was apparent weeks ago that Ray J was not feeling her, so why did she continue to try and get him??? Was it the love of the chase? Or was it so sooner or later she would feel that God awful pain of rejection???

After all, men are not chasing after women anymore. Well, seems like men are not chasing. Women are breaking their necks to please men and most of the time women are breaking their necks for men who don't even like them. Why must women put themselves through this torture? Is it that the chase gives women more hope that the man they are chasing after will sooner or later see the intelligent woman in front of them? Or is it for the pain? Does pain feel that good or it that pain makes women stronger...

After all, people in general are taught that they have to make mistakes in order to learn to make the right choices....
