My Heart~ Felicia Renae, A Song That Speaks To Me

Every once in a while I get in a zone where I can barely think of anything to write. A writer struggling to come up with topics is worse than when Michael Jackson's hair caught on fire. In order to get myself back on track I listen to lots of music and watch lots of movies/television shows for inspiration. Recently I realized that I needed lots of  inspiration.

In looking for something to inspire me, I turned off the rap music. Instead I found the R &/Neo Soul station on XM radio and left it there. There's one song that this station plays a lot. The first time I heard it I fell in love with the words. The words were spoke my life story when it comes to love. Some of the chorus goes "Looking at my history you see why I'm broken. Even if it's real this time I don't want to blame you for it." The words are so deep, but every time I heard it I never caught the name of the artist. When I typed it into google other songs always popped up. However, while in the car today the song came on again. I sang with the artist until it went off. Then the radio personality said her name.

This song is by the talented singer Felicia Renae. You can listen to "My Heart" below in case you haven't already heard.

I still can't believe it's Felicia Renae. For a minute I thought this was Letoya Luckett, but of course I could never find it when typing her name.

  1. :-) Dear Lashuntrice,

Thank you!!! my sister came across your blog and shared it with me.

I am truly touched by your words, the fact that you can relate and I'm so glad to hear you've been singing along! :-)

Hopefully I'll get to do a show near you sometime and we can sing the words together! :-)

    Thank you again,

    *Felicia Renae
