Update: I'm Working Hard On The Woman Manifested Book

I haven't abandoned this blog. I'm not trying to become one of those bloggers who post once a week. I'm just serious about getting this book, Woman Manifested, published.

Well, it's not just the publishing that I'm focusing on. I'm preparing to put together a team of people that will help me promote. One little problem with getting help is always money. "I ain't rich yet, but you know I ain't broke;" (in Post Malone voice). Money is just tight, so I'm trying to spend as little as possible while insuring as many people as possible get exposed to Woman Manifested. If you haven't heard about this book yet, read about it on LinkedIn.

The Boy Movie Review

I've been to the movies every weekend since Christmas. It's been cold outside and the lines have surprisingly been long. There was one weekend where there was absolutely no popcorn. I decided not to wait so I wouldn't missing the beginning of the movie. I hate missing the beginning of the movies. Always, this weekend I went to see The Boy and this is my review.

Spoiler Alert: The boy is real. You just don't find out how real until the very end of the movie. You are left thinking a doll is moving on it's on, it's shedding real tears, and it's eating food. You think a doll really wants to listen to classical music, play games, and be tucked into bed every night. There's a point where you have flashbacks to the Annabelle doll and think there's a spirit attached to this one.

At some points the movie is slow. The parents have disappeared and the babysitter is talking to a doll for God only knows how long. Since we never actually see the doll move on it's on, it's makes me feel a little crazy sitting there waiting to see what will happen next. If there wouldn't have been a romance written into this suspenseful film, it would have been a snooze fest.

Overall, the movie was good. I wouldn't pay to see it a second time, but it was worth watching.

Don't Leave (Poem)

Remember Omarion's song Don't Leave? I wrote my own version to it.

Don’t leave me now
You’re not the fuck ass nigga I once thought
Please, don’t leave me now
Cause I finally want, no I need you around
You have to stay
Cause you deserve to be with the woman I’ve become
I don’t want to yell
I don’t want to scream
I don’t want to cry anymore
But I’ll beg and plead for you to stay with me
Cause I just want to feel the love of yours
Don’t leave me now
After all the games a girl 'been playing
I finally pushed you away
But don’t leave me now
I don’t want go back to the loneliness anymore
I promise I’ll love you more
However you want
I’ll love you more
You say I don’t do you the same
Allowed trust issues to get in the way
Now you want leave me alone when I’m tryna get better
But I can’t let you go so easily

I thought I posted this poem a long time ago, but it wasn't on here. I need to stop sharing my work with you all because I plan to put all my writing in books that you'll hopefully read. However, I can't keep this in hiding and not enough people pay attention to Facebook statuses. I hope you enjoyed it. Let me know. I'm trying to become a better writer.

Woman Manifested book is coming soon.

The Dress Looked Better Online

After a month and some days my packages finally arrived.

That's how long it takes to get clothes from a website like Rose Gal. See, the only reason this particular site was on my radar is because the Facebook ad came up. Well, another reason is because I don't get paid enough to afford Nasty Gal clothing, so I have to settle for the cheaper option.

Anyway, I received the clothes and a dress I was anxiously waiting for looked pretty on the website. It had soft fabric and was short on the model. I guess the model was tall, because it wasn't that short on me. Just look at the picture. The fabric isn't the same either. I would feel like I got ripped off, but the dress was on sale for $12 (I think).

Oh well, that's what I get for not going to Rainbow for my cheap winter clothes. I would add links to these websites, but none are paying me.

P.S. Maybe the dress will look better once I pair it with some cute shoes and a belt to give it some shape.

How Amazon Prime Made Me Lose My Mind In The Middle of The Night

Don't purchase Amazon Prime in the middle of the night just because you see a good movie to watch. The company will automatically take a whole $107 out of your account thinking you want to be with them for a whole 12 months. If  your money is often tight like most Americans, you'll freak out like I did. Then again, maybe I'm the only bored person in the middle of the night that makes mistakes like this.

It was a mistake. I saw a movie that looked cool, realized it was a part of Prime, and I had used up my free month already. I cancelled before I could get charged a couple moths ago because nothing on it interested me then. However, this movie caught my attention and I decided to renew for a month. What I didn't know was this service is set up as a yearly plan, so I was caught off guard with over $100 was taken from my bank account right away. What happened next was worst.

I tried to fix it on my own. The online site gave an option to cancel the yearly subscription and get my money back. I did that and then signed up for a month only. For some reason instead of sending me a reimbursement notice, my account was charged again. This time it was only $9.99 but at that point they had taken $117 out of my account instead of reimbursing me. Stupid Amazon also had the nerve to put up a message saying I'd be charged another $21 at the end of the month for cancelling. What???

This is when I went to Twitter to express my anger. I ranted hard until I remembered someone I was following had an Amazon Prime account. I asked her and she told me to call customer service. Why is customer service not easily accessible on the site? I had to go to google to find the number.

In the next few days I should be getting my money deposited back into my account, but I'm frustrated. I just had to be tempted by that movie. Hulu and Netflix are honestly good enough and they have good money plans.

P.S. I didn't watch the movie. It's called Goodnight Mommy. The cover looked good, but it wasn't even in English. Don't laugh.

Antidote (Poem)

Everyone is acquainted with Travis Scott's song Antidote, but the poet known as Lashuntrice is here to introduce you to the real Antidote.

Antidote

Don’t you open up that window
Don’t you let out that antidote
This ain’t your ordinary lust
I need you to take it all in
I’m not here for your money
And with me it can’t be about temporary needs
Don’t treat me like a hit and quit it type of girl
And don’t come around unless you’re ready
Don’t knock on that door if you’re just playing
Who’s that at the front door?
If you want all this, you have to leave all your old heauxs
Affection is what I’m looking for
Real love is what I need
Making the love last forever is my goal
Can you feel me inside of you without you being inside of me?
Don’t fight it
Accept the inevitable

P.S. This is not going to be in the Woman Manifested book. It is just a taste of what you can expect.

Brandy~ Beggin & Pleadin

Hello! Brandy has a new show, Zoe Ever After, on BET and she's dropping new music for us to hear. What do you think of Beggin & Pleadin?

Would You Marry Her If She Was About To Be....

You two have been dating for a while.
not my photo

She loves you and you absolutely love her too. However, when you started dating her you made it clear that you didn't want to get married. You've walked down that aisle before and it just wasn't for you. Your ex was a nightmare and the divorce was rough. Thankfully there were no kids in the picture to add to the stress. This new woman in your life desperately needs as least a court marriage, because if it doesn't happen you'll risk never seeing her again. Why? She's not an American citizen and her visa will expire soon.

This is a real story I had the pleasure of listening to at a bar after work. The man in the picture wasn't there, so I can't give you the real details of why he despises marriage. However, his girlfriend was there and she was really stressed. She only has a couple months left, or maybe she doesn't really at all, to comfortably be in the United States before that dreadful knock on her door happens. This is why she's trying to rush her boyfriend into marrying her immediately.

I say if they love each other, he should marry her. I would also hope that if it was me, he would be ready to make me his wife tomorrow morning as soon as the courthouse opens. Marriage isn't that scary even though some people think it is. In 2014 Time Magazine actually said 25% of millennials want to say single forever. Are you part of that statistics. Would you marry her if not doing it meant never seeing her again?

The Introduction to "Woman Manifested"

This is the official introduction to Woman Manifested.
"See I woke up happy…Thought I had all I needed… education, degrees, the “white girl” grammar, the “almost” perfect body, the friendly attitude, the willing to do whatever it takes to achieve my dreams mood…Because someone once said, “Do what you have to do in order to do what you want to do” and after years of struggling to obtain something I thought I needed….hope, accomplishing goals, handing over my soul for a  little bit of talent..."

This is the introduction to Woman Manifested, a book that reveals the poetic tale of a woman just trying to achieve her version of happiness. All of her life she's been exposed to people having the best career opportunities, the most comfortable lifestyles, and long lasting marriages.

Lashuntrice does not sugar coat anything in this book. She starts off with a poem, Yesterday I Committed A Murder, which is about letting go of the scared little girl not yet ready to face the crazy journey. You will see how Hip Hop and Hollywood has influenced her mindset, her thoughts on friends that become strangers, thoughts on infidelity, struggles with getting men to listen to her, and how she feels about motherhood at this point. Her journey is not for everyone to relate to, but it is a journey many women can understand.

Stay tuned. Woman Manifested is coming soon to an online store near you.
