Selma didn't win an Oscar for Best Picture at the 87th Academy Awards, but the message behind the movie has won.
As John Legend and Common accepted their Oscar for the song Glory, tears were everywhere in the room. The most notable was that of David Oyelowo, who played the role of Martin Luther King Jr. better than anyone could have imagined. When asked if he was upset about Selma not winning after the awards was over, Oyelowo had a great reply. He said Selma is not a movie of the year, but a movie for a lifetime.
