From That Website |
However, before ever seeing the actual headline of the post one of our favorite bloggers, Luvvie, wrote about how we can avoid fake news on social media. She wrote her blog post 5 Things To Avoid Passing On Fake News On Social Media in June, but this story was her reason for sharing the blog post again this week. Yet after catching what Luvvie was trying to do, I saw the blog post reposted 20 different times on my Facebook newsfeed in one day. Even my mama posted it and seemed outraged.
I don't get it. I really don't. It's become super apparent who makes up stories for hits out here and who genuinely tries to bring us actual news. Yet people keep falling for the fake sites. People continually post News Nerd (or whatever it's called), The Onion (although their fakeness is slightly entertaining), and most of all Cream BMP.
I want to believe some people love this site just because of that Bow Wow, oops Shad Moss, story about how he was supposedly fired from 106 & Park. So many people hate Shad now, but the reality is they actually believe what they read and don't care about the source. Therefore Cream BMP is the real MVP of fake news. They can write whatever they want. They could publish a story tomorrow about President Obama being impeached and they'd get 20 million hits just because people believe them. Why would anyone believe that? I don't know, but those writers at the blog have a secret reading formula that the rest of us have yet to figure out.
You might be wondering what the picture is about. Upon looking for a photo, I saw a blog post they had wrote about Drake being in critical condition from trying to save a stripper's life. It was so hilarious. Now if any of you come across this site and still fall for one of their stories, you already know why. They're winning in the realm of false news.
I don't get how people believe this stuff. You would think that this site would be open to lawsuits, but I guess that's not the case. I hate seeing things on FB that are so ridiculous that you know it's fake. Why people don't check other sources to verify is beyond me. I guess it's the laziness of this country. Now I know why it's so easy for some politicians to stay in office.
