Intellectual Question: Does Distance Make The Heart Grow Fonder?

Distance Makes The Heart Grow Fonder

Absence makes the heart grow fonder... or does it? A month ago a man asked me if I would be in a long distance relationship with him. He told me he'd had feelings for me in a while and he wasn't dating anyone. He also claimed that women weren't even trying to throw themselves at him. He could have been joking about it all because he already knew my answer. The answer was no.
I don't do long distance relationships. I could do one. I'm very faithful and once I start thinking about a man no one else exists. However, it's a man that I don't trust. In a society where men will flirt with a woman, her sister, and her best friend in front of each other how am I supposed to believe that a long distance relationship could work?

I do admit if I loved him and we were apart for a long time, seeing him again would be overwhelming. The emotions would be strong. I might even have sex with him just because. However I wouldn't call him my man, because who really knows what happens in that time of not seeing each other.

So my question to you is do you feel like distance makes the heart grow fonder or is your opinion more in the area of out of sight out of mind?
