It's a new year and since last year I've been looking for a change that would help mold me more into the woman I'm supposed to be. The first step after college, in my opinion, was to change up my hair. The one thing I knew I wanted to do with my hair was cut it and that happened. The hairstyle I rocked towards the later half of last year was inspired by the 80's.
While it was great I was looking for better. Before I got the 80's inspired haircut I'd been looking at pictures of Monica. The more I looked at her the more I thought her hairstyle would definitely be the one to make me look better. Well actually in 2010 Monica did the long side bang, but I didn't want that. I just wanted the short cut. I didn't get it right away.
Fear kept it from happening. So, I wore my 80's inspired look and continued to think about going shorter. Then recently both Halle Berry and Regina King appeared back on the scene. Regina King was doing appearances for a television show she's on and Halle Berry's face has been on everything. They stood out because they're both famous for their short hair. They can both wear the hair well. They inspired me and let me know that it was time.
Recently the opportunity came for me to do the cut. Well, actually yesterday I went to the beautician and did it. It was nice and my hair felt much lighter at the end. I did have a lot less hair on my head. When the style was complete I immediately took pictures. The only fear of it now is that I will have trouble keeping it up. That same fear excites me.
